Hi
Born and raised in Nottingham, UK, to Jamaican parents, I’m Glenford Meikle Green—a Musician, beatmaker, rapper, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist who’s carved my own path through the raw, landscape of the music industry. My story isn’t just about music; it’s about survival, hustle, and the relentless pursuit of my passion for music. From the inner-city struggles of my youth to becoming a self-made, independent artist, I’ve lived and breathed Hip-Hop since day one.
My Story
Music has always been in my blood. My mother was a church singer, but her soul couldn’t be confined to just gospel—she filled our house with the sounds of ska, reggae, and soul. My father’s record collection introduced me to The Beatles and classic Jamaican tunes, while my older brothers schooled me on the funk, dropping records from legends like James Brown and The Fatback Band. Our house was alive with music, and it’s here that my love for vinyl, breakbeats, and crate-digging was born.
I was just a kid when Hip-Hop first pulled me in. It was 1980 when I bought my first rap record, Christmas Rappin’ by Kurtis Blow, and my life changed forever. I started DJing and became known as BreakBeat Glen—spinning rare vinyl and rocking parties across Nottingham with the type of tracks nobody else had.
Musically, I’ve never stayed in one lane. Whether it’s the acoustic drums, electric guitar, or production, I do it all—my hands on every aspect of my sound. I learned to play guitar from a neighborhood legend, Mr. Bennett, aka "Money Man," and soaked up rhythms from church tambourines to the street sounds of reggae and funk.
As an independent artist, I’m in full control of my creativity—writing, producing, and releasing all my music without the limits of any label. Every beat, every lyric, and every riff is pure me—real, unfiltered, and straight from the soul. As an independent rap and Hip-Hop artist, my mission goes beyond making music. It’s about creating a legacy rooted in authenticity, community, and connection
My music is distributed by TuneCore across all major platforms, but I don’t just make songs; I tell stories. Stories of struggle, survival, love for Hip-Hop, and the fight to stay true to myself as an artist. I’m here to shake things up, to give the culture something real.
This is my journey. From the streets of Nottingham to the world stage, I am Hip-Hop. The beats I create, the rhymes I spit—they come from a place of truth, and I’m just getting started.
